Riportiamo qui l'elenco di tutte le bici segnalate nel 2013 dalla commissione europea nell'ambito del sistema RAPEX (The rapid alert system for non-food dangerous products). Ci limitiamo alle bici da adulto, perchè quelle da bambino sono tantissime e potete consultare il sito ufficiale RAPEX).

Brand: Cannondale Name: Slice RS Type/number of model: 2013 model year. Bicycle model code, product C13RMSOD Slice RS, Black Edition C13RMSID Slice RS, Ultegra Di2 C13RMS3D Slice RS, Ultegra Slice RS framesets Description: Triathlon/time trial bicycles and bicycle frames. Country of origin: China

Injuries The front and rear brake plates may be loose or improperly bonded. This could lead to failure of the brakes.

Brand: Redy Name: All2gether Description: Bicycle with a front carrier for transporting children or goods. Country of origin: China

Injuries The front carrier may break away from the frame, causing the children or goods being transported to fall on to the road. 2 accidents reported.

Compulsory measures: Temporary ban on the supply, offer to supply and display of the product

Brand: B'Twin Name: Rockrider Type/number of model: Model Rockrider 9.9 XL. On sale from 19 April 2012 to 14 January 2013. Description: Mountain bike: Country of origin: Taiwan

Injuries There is a risk of the frame breaking which could lead to the cyclist falling off.

Brand: Olpran Name: Spider Type/number of model: Model: SPIDER 26“ Frame number: YD01398 Description: Bicycle with red-silver steel frame. Country of origin: Czech Republic

Injuries The handlebar stem, the frame, the front fork and the pedals do not have sufficient mechanical strength and can break. The design of the brake levers does not enable them to be gripped safely. These defects could result in the rider falling off the bicycle. The product does not comply with the relevant European standard EN 14766.

Compulsory measures: Ban on the marketing of the product and any accompanying measures, Withdrawal of the product from the market

Brand: Specialized Name: Tarmac, Crux and Secteur Type/number of model: The recall concerns 2012 and 2013 models (see attached list). Description: Road bicycles and framesets with a Topkey front fork steerer. Country of origin: China

Injuries The front fork steerer tube can break whilst the bike is being ridden. This could cause the rider to fall from the bike. Four incidents reported.

Injuries The handlebar stem and the pedal axle assembly are not strong enough and could break leading to an accident. The product does not comply with the relevant European standard EN 14764.
